Description
The SMB / SMH* series of highly dynamic brushless servo motors has been designed to combine Parker Hannifin's innovative technology with extremely high performance. Thanks to the innovative salient pole technology, motor dimensions have been drastically reduced and significant advantages have been achieved in terms of specific torque, overall size and dynamic performance. Compared to conventional brushless servo motors, the specific torque is about 30% higher, the size is much smaller and consequently the rotor moments of inertia are extremely low. Thanks to the high quality of the neodymium-iron-boron magnets and the encapsulation method used to attach these magnets to the shaft, the SMB/H motor series can achieve high accelerations and withstand high loads without risking demagnetization or detachment of the magnets. Specific applications of the SMB/H series include any type of automation equipment, especially in the packaging and handling industries, as well as any application requiring very high dynamic performance and very low torques.
